At QTE Gamers, we tend to look at everything through a veil of video gaming references. The main reason for this is that we have all grown up with one major passion, playing games. No matter the type or what kind of console or otherwise. Our love for gaming has permeated through everything we do and love, and so it’s no surprise that when we needed to start growing out of this love, that we moved into a career path that emulated some of the skills and such that were required in gaming. As we moved towards establishing our careers in the home inspection industry we noticed a lot of overlapping characteristics between what we did in the games, and what we do for our careers.
There has to be a good level of attention to detail in either of our passions, and we need to know what order of operations brings the most success. But instead of simply aiming for our own successes, we ensure that our client gets the bets results of our work. This still plays to a positive outcome for us, as it has allowed us to set a precedence and a reputation for not allowing minor things to escape our attention. Much like playing any other strategy game, we need to know where we want to go, and what steps are necessary to get there.
I have had the great fortune of being able to go into business with others who share the same passions as I do, and to form a core group of professionals who bring the absolute best to their work. Outside of this, the four of us still compete regularly in smaller video game competitions to keep our skills sharp. As we play games, we talk about work, and at work we talk about gaming. It’s this perfect balance that we have struck that allows us to thoroughly enjoy both of our passions equally. It’s not often that people find themselves in career positions that they truly love due to it emulating the passions they already have, and we consider ourselves very fortunate to be in this position.
But enough with the introduction to us, you may be wondering what the point of this blog is besides talking about a juxtaposition of passions, and simply, it’s a place that I would like to use to discuss those passions, and to perhaps find other likeminded individuals who may have been in similar situations either with their career path or the passions they’ve pursued. Whether that’s video games, home inspection services, or a number of other different things out there that can take your attention. I want to speak freely about the things I enjoy, and perhaps you, as the reader may be able to find some similarities to your own life and be able to reply in kind? I don’t have a direction or plan, at least not yet, but I’m glad you’re here in the meantime to hear about our stories.
